Great job

If you're going to study cinematography, you don't have to worry about the artwork -- the way you cut the scenes together, and the mix of closeup shots and other scenes were very well done. Very impressive.

I do flash movies myself, and am a movie buff (and yeah, Donnie Darko is fantastic, great pick for a soundtrack btw), so I struggle a lot with trying to figure out how to put scenes together... And I have done quite a few years of landscape photography, and have drawn cartoons for years, so I have some background on it. And I've got about two dozens films here on Newgrounds, but your cinematography is still better...

Great stuff, very moody also.

Haha, totally irreverent, good fun.

Excellent

Great stuff! Educational and funny; I like it. This type of material could help get people involved, and interested in politics again, ya know?

Nice job.

Thats what i was hoping for. Hey thanks for such a nice review. I appreciate it.

Brilliant

Absolute brilliance. The artwork may seem a little simple to some, but I draw myself (as well as making Flash movies) so I can see the skill that goes into this -- it's really nice. And far more importantly, consider Gary Larson or Scott Adams; they're not master artists... But the style of their artwork perfectly matches their jokes -- their stories.

And that's the stuff that really does it here -- the STORY. It's utterly awesome. Fantastic job.

Absolute brilliance

I animate Flash movies myself (see profile -- and draw cartoons as a hobby, that I try to incorporate those in my aniations), so I know a little about what effort it takes to animate things, and I also know a bit about drawing the likeness of a person, using a minimal, iconic form.

And this completely blew me away. I cannot believe how you managed to nail Ewan McGregor with such a simplistic style, dude... Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

The gestures and facial expressions were just... Sublime... So subtle. Amazing.

I'm releaved to hear that this stuff is professional (and that you were paid properly for the job), cause if this was amateur material, I'd start getting a tad depressed about my own junk.

Fantastic job. I'm keeping a copy of this sucker on my drive, so I can get some inspiration...

Great stuff!

Beautiful artwork, and great story-telling. You made very good use of the still images to tell the story.

Also, using an old Chinese folk tale as a basis for a Flash animation is very cool in its own rights -- it's educational. It's always a great thing to learn about culture in this way. Great work.

Brilliantly twisted

Not much to say about this one, except beautifully sick and twisted. Awesome.

Good point

-- Good stuff. It's pretty frustrating, I agree. I've got a bunch of movies on newgrounds, some did well, some ok, some did pretty bad but are still around, and some got deleted. I'm not saying all of them are good, but they all took a lot of work to create. Fair enough, if you make movies that people don't like, they don't watch them -- and real movie critics rarely make movies themselves (Roger Ebert did, but it was garbage), but still, yeah, there's definitely some angry kids here who like to trash things, and do so for some sad, pathetic reasons...
-- Excellent work on the voice, that was great.
-- The cutting/editing between faces/scenes etc. was great also.
-- Great work dude, I'll go watch some more of your work now, heh.

Really nice!!

I love Carl Orf's piece, but I hate how it is used to dramatize every damn thing in the world. It was only every used in EXCALIBUR, properly -- all other movies abused it, and trivialized it.

I might have said the same about your animation, but I know you are an enthusiastic amateur just like me, so to be honest, I thought it was really good, as far as style goes. A dramatic, slow-action shoot-out with that piece of music is really excellent.

Only thing you REALLY gotta sort out, is -- you got whole cartridges flying there, buddy. There is NO excuse for that at all, even if you are an amateur. If you are going to portray gunfire, you should know how that stuff works. You got the slides on the guns working properly (and it looks good, btw), so to get that wrong is bad.

That aside, really nice, dude. Cigarette smoking, ashes, slow-motion stuff, classic work, it really is. It makes me think of REAL movies, you know?

Maybe if us Flash animators got our shiet together, we'd be the next Tarrentino? :)

Good stuff dude, really!

Thanks! Ok, I forgot to draw the bullets withouth their casings, and I'm really sorry. I never thought that people would care about that...
